Tirana International Airport N\u00ebn\u00eb Tereza is the only Tirana airport, the capital city of Albania. It is located approximately 17 km from the city center<\/strong> and is named after Mother Teresa, the Catholic nun, and Nobel Peace Prize winner who is Albanian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The airport has undergone significant renovations in recent years, including the construction of a new terminal building, expanded runway, and taxiway systems, and upgraded air traffic control equipment. It now has the capacity to handle up to 5 million passengers per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
